A Ball pein hammer is an excellent all-round hammer and is usually the first hammer bought by a beginner. It has one domed, and one flat side and can be used for many tasks such as texturing, forming, flattening and hammering punches.

The head is 2oz (56g) in weight with a total length of 65mm; the face is 10mm in diameter.
