Diamond
A pure diamond is composed entirely of carbon and is colourless. Trace elements or defects in the crystal structure cause different colours to occur. Diamonds are not usually cut in bead form due to their high value. It is the hardest known natural substance. Birthstone for April. Hardness: 10 (Mohs).
