Ammolite
Ammolite is the fossilised shell of the extinct ammonite mollusc (a squid-like creature). The shell is buried in mineral rich soil for approximately 70 millions years giving it the striking and vibrant iridescent colours in the thin layer at the surface of the shell. The main deposit is found in Alberta, Canada.
